Four stages. Nothing added.

Water passes through four mechanical stages, each catching something the last one can't. No chemicals are added, and the same design scales from a countertop to a whole community.

Catches sand, sediment and particles.

Absorb

Pulls out chemicals like PFAS and VOCs.

Plastic bottles shed plastic into your water. Glass and cork don't.

In a 2024 Columbia University study of three popular brands, researchers counted about 240,000 plastic particles in a liter of plastic-bottled water, nine in ten of them nanoplastics. Nothing plastic touches CUP WTR by Remedion: not the filters, not the bottle, not the cork.

Questions, answered

Water, plainly explained.

What is CUP WTR?

CUP WTR by Remedion is purified still water bottled in 25.4 oz glass with a natural cork, sold six to a recycled carrier. The name stands for Clean, Unpolluted, Pure Water. It is made by Remedion in Warwick, Rhode Island, and is on presale while the plant is built.

Does CUP WTR contain PFAS or microplastics?

No PFAS and no microplastics were detected in CUP WTR on third-party panels run by EMSL Analytical. All 18 PFAS compounds on the EPA drinking-water panel (EPA Method 537.1) were below the lab's reporting limit after treatment.

What are PFAS, or forever chemicals?

PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) are thousands of man-made chemicals used in non-stick, waterproof and stain-resistant products. They are called forever chemicals because they break down very slowly in the environment.

Is there PFAS in bottled water?

Sometimes, at low levels. The FDA tested 197 bottled waters sold in U.S. stores in 2023 and 2024; ten had detectable PFAS, and none exceeded EPA limits for public drinking water. Results depend on which PFAS a lab tests for. Source: FDA, 2025

How much PFAS is in U.S. tap water?

A U.S. Geological Survey study sampled tap water at 716 locations and estimated that at least one PFAS is present in about 45% of U.S. tap water. Levels vary widely by location and water source. Source: USGS, 2023

What is the EPA's PFAS drinking water rule?

In April 2024 the EPA set the first enforceable national limits for PFAS in drinking water, including 4 parts per trillion each for PFOA and PFOS. Utilities must comply by 2029; in May 2026 the EPA proposed allowing up to 2031 for systems that request it. Source: Harvard EELP tracker

How many plastic particles are in bottled water?

A 2024 Columbia University study in PNAS counted about 240,000 plastic particles per liter on average across three popular U.S. bottled-water brands, about 90% of them nanoplastics smaller than one micrometer. Source: Qian et al., PNAS 2024

How does Remedion remove PFAS and microplastics?

Remedion uses a purely mechanical filter train with four stages: sterilise (bacteria and viruses), capture (sand and particles), absorb (chemicals such as PFAS) and separate (microplastics and heavy metals). It filters from five microns down to one ten-thousandth of a micron and adds nothing to the water.

Why glass and cork instead of plastic?

Plastic bottles can shed particles into the water they hold. Glass is inert, and France's food-safety agency ANSES traced most microplastics in glass-bottled drinks to the paint on metal caps, which is why CUP WTR uses a natural cork. Nothing plastic touches CUP WTR from the filters to the cork. Source: ANSES study, 2025

Can I buy CUP WTR now?

Yes, as a presale while the Warwick plant is built. A case of six is $20 plus freight shipped from cupwater.co, or $18 for local pickup at the plant in Warwick, Rhode Island. Subscriptions are available daily, weekly, monthly or yearly.

Where is CUP WTR made?

At Remedion's own building at 191 2nd Avenue, Warwick, Rhode Island, just south of Providence. Rhode Island has no other in-state water bottler.

Is Remedion's technology patented?

Yes. U.S. patent US-12662404-B1, a purification system with bottling apparatus, is issued. Remedion's Closed Aquaculture System patent was allowed in August 2026, and its Deep Water Culture and further bottling patents are under review.

What is Deep Water Culture?

Deep Water Culture is a hydroponic method where plant roots hang directly in oxygenated, nutrient-rich water, with plants held on floating rafts. Remedion's farm design uses purified water, indoors, with no soil and no pesticides. Source: Oregon State University Extension

What is a closed aquaculture system?

A closed aquaculture system raises fish in indoor tanks that recirculate and treat their own water instead of open ocean pens. Remedion's design raises tilapia, salmon, trout and shrimp on purified water, and holds oysters, clams and mussels in clean water to purge before sale.
